The National Transport Authority is an independent public body, one of the functions of which is the development and maintenance of a regulatory framework for the control and operation of small public service vehicles (SPSVs) which comprise of taxis, wheelchair accessible taxis, hackneys, wheelchair accessible hackneys and limousines. These functions are covered by the Taxi Regulation Directorate.
